Vietnam visa for US citizens

US citizens need a visa to visit Vietnam. The e-visa lets you stay up to 90 days, single or multiple entry, for US$25 (single entry) or US$50 (multiple entry) in government fees. Processing normally takes 3 working days, and the whole application is done online.

Do US citizens need a visa for Vietnam?

Yes. US citizens are not on Vietnam's visa-exemption list, so every trip to the mainland needs a visa, whatever its length. The simplest route is the e-visa: open to all nationalities since 15 August 2023, valid up to 90 days, single or multiple entry, and used at the airports, land borders and seaports on the government's approved list.

The government fee is US$25 (single entry) or US$50 (multiple entry). With us you pay one price, US$74 all-inclusive (US$99 for multiple entry), government fee included: your documents are checked, filed for you and followed up until your e-visa arrives.

Vietnamese Americans: the 5-year visa exemption

People of Vietnamese origin, and their spouses and children, can obtain a 5-year visa exemption certificate. It is a separate procedure from the e-visa portal. For everyone else, the e-visa is the standard route for tourism, family visits and short business trips.
