Do Indian citizens need a visa for Vietnam?
Yes. Indian citizens are not on Vietnam's visa-exemption list, so every trip to the mainland needs a visa, whatever its length. The simplest route is the e-visa: open to all nationalities since 15 August 2023, valid up to 90 days, single or multiple entry, and used at the airports, land borders and seaports on the government's approved list.
The government fee is US$25 (single entry) or US$50 (multiple entry). With us you pay one price, US$74 all-inclusive (US$99 for multiple entry), government fee included: your documents are checked, filed for you and followed up until your e-visa arrives.
E-visa or visa on arrival for Indians?
Both exist, but they are not the same thing. The visa on arrival is not a walk-up visa: you first need an approval letter obtained through a licensed Vietnamese company, then you pay a stamping fee in cash when you land, and it only works at international airports.
| E-visa | Visa on arrival | |
|---|---|---|
| How to apply | Online, yourself or through us | Approval letter through a licensed Vietnamese company |
| Government fee | US$25 / US$50, paid online | US$25 / US$50 stamping fee, in cash |
| Where it works | Airports, land borders and seaports on the approved list | International airports only |
| On arrival | Passport and printed e-visa | Letter, passport and cash at the visa counter |
How much does a Vietnam visa cost for Indians?
The government charges the same fee to every nationality: US$25 (single entry) or US$50 (multiple entry). It is paid in US dollars by card on the official portal. With our service you pay US$74 all-inclusive (US$99 for multiple entry), government fee included, so there is one payment and nothing to pay on the portal yourself.
Names on Indian passports
The portal asks for your name exactly as printed in the two code lines at the bottom of your passport. If your passport shows only one name, with no separate surname, the portal's rule is to enter it as given names. Getting this right matters: the e-visa must match your passport letter for letter.
How it works, step by step
Working days are Vietnamese working days: weekends and Vietnamese public holidays do not count. If your trip is close, apply as early as you can.
| Step | What happens | When |
|---|---|---|
| 1. Apply | You send your passport page and a photo, then answer the questions the official form asks | About 10 minutes |
| 2. Pay | One card payment of US$74 (single entry) or US$99 (multiple entry) | At the end of the form |
| 3. We file | We check everything and submit your application on evisa.gov.vn | Within 24 working hours |
| 4. Processing | The Vietnam Immigration Department reviews the application | About 3 working days |
| 5. Your e-visa | You receive it by email, checked against your passport | As soon as it is issued |
What you need to apply
- A passport valid for at least 6 months after your arrival date
- A clear photo of your passport's data page, with no cut corners and both code lines at the bottom visible
- A recent portrait photo: white background, face straight, no hat, no glasses, formal clothes
- Your planned entry date, the airport or border gate you will use to enter and to leave, and the address of your first accommodation in Vietnam
- An email address (50 characters maximum) and a phone number with its country code
What the service does for you
- We read your passport automatically, so most of the form is filled in for you, and you only confirm the details.
- We check your photo and passport scan against the portal's rules before anything is submitted: 4x6 cm, white background, face straight, no hat, no glasses, the full data page with both code lines visible.
- We file your application on the official portal within 24 working hours of your order, and follow it up.
- You receive your e-visa by email, ready to print, and we check that every detail matches your passport.
What it costs
If you cancel before we file, you are refunded in full. Once filed, the government fee is paid to the Immigration Department and is not refunded even if the visa is refused: our refund policy explains every case.

Questions
How much does a Vietnam visa cost for Indians?

How long does the Vietnam e-visa take for Indian citizens?

Can I enter Vietnam with an Indian passport without a visa?
No. India is not on Vietnam's visa-exemption list. You need an e-visa, or a visa on arrival with an approval letter obtained before you fly. The one exception is Phu Quoc island, which every nationality can visit visa-free for 30 days when arriving directly and staying on the island.
Is the visa on arrival cheaper for Indians?
The government part is the same, US$25 or US$50, paid in cash on arrival. You also pay the company that obtains the approval letter. With an e-visa there is no cash to carry and no counter to queue at on arrival.
